Malanginspirasi.com – Grup rock legendaris asal Inggris, Pink Floyd, akan merilis ulang album ikonik ‘Wish You Were Here’, dalam edisi spesial 50 tahun. Album yang dirilis pertama kali pada tahun 1975 ini akan hadir dengan format yang lebih mewah.
‘Wish You Were Here 50’ dijadwalkan rilis pada 12 Desember 2025 melalui Sony Music Entertainment.
Para penggemar dapat memilih berbagai format yang ditawarkan, mulai dari 3xLP dan 2xCD yang berisi alternate mix dan demo lagu, hingga box set super mewah yang mencakup LP berisi materi live yang direkam di Wembley Stadium, serta Blu-ray yang menampilkan tiga film konser dari tur Pink Floyd tahun 1975 dan film pendek karya desainer grafis Storm Thorgerson.

Sebagai bocoran, para penggemar sudah dapat menikmati demo lagu ‘Welcome to the Machine’ yang diberi judul “The Machine Song (Demo #2, Revisited).”
Album ‘Wish You Were Here’ bukan hanya sekadar kumpulan lagu, tetapi juga sebuah karya seni yang melibatkan visual yang kuat.
Aubrey Powell, salah satu pendiri kolektif desain asal Inggris, Hipgnosis, yang mendesain sampul album ‘Wish You Were Here’ bersama Thorgerson, mengungkapkan bahwa sampul album memiliki peran penting dalam penjualan album di era 70-an.
Mereka harus menciptakan sesuatu yang berbeda dan menonjol di antara ribuan gambar sampul album lainnya. Salah satu ide gila mereka adalah “membakar” seorang pria sungguhan untuk sampul album, karena pada masa itu belum ada teknologi digital yang bisa melakukannya.
‘Wish You Were Here’ sendiri merupakan bentuk penghormatan Pink Floyd kepada Syd Barrett, salah satu pendiri dan vokalis asli mereka, yang meninggalkan band tujuh tahun sebelumnya karena masalah kesehatan mental.
Roger Waters dan David Gilmour berbagi vokal utama dalam album ini. Waters membawakan kedua bagian dari lagu epik ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’, sementara Gilmour menyanyikan ‘Welcome to the Machine’ dan ‘Wish You Were Here’.
Lagu ‘Have a Cigar’ menjadi pengecualian, karena band merekrut penulis lagu folk, Roy Harper, untuk menyanyikannya.
Rilis ulang ‘Wish You Were Here’ edisi spesial 50 tahun ini tentu menjadi momen yang sangat dinantikan oleh para penggemar Pink Floyd di seluruh dunia.
